Roller blind Bandalux® Basic Blackout
HOW TO MEASURE THE WIDTH OF THE BLIND
To know if we can install this new system we have to check that we need a minimum of 2 cm (19.5 mm) of space between the glass and the window handle, otherwise the fabric will not cover the glass.
X is the distance from the glass to the handle. If for example, the glass is 80 cm wide and there is 2.5 cm distance from the glass to the handle, we will have to add double (5 cm) to the width of the glass (80 cm), if we want to guide it. If we do not want to guide it, we must add 3.5 cm more to the width of the glass.
- - Total width of the blind WITH cable guide = Width of the glass + 2X (80+2.5+2.5 = 85 cm)
- - Total width of the blind WITHOUT cable guide = Width of the glass + 2X + 35 mm (80+2.5+2.5+3.5 = 88.5 cm)
It is possible to configure the VEOS roller blind without a guide. However, Bandalux recommends installing the blind with a guide, for a better hold of the fabric
HOW TO MEASURE THE HEIGHT OF THE BLIND
Measure the height of the blind = Total height of the door or window, including the profiles.
There must be a minimum distance of 1.5 cms (15 mm) between the window sash and the floor, and 15 mm between the window sash and the ceiling.
FRONT WINDING / FABRIC AWAY FROM GLASS
In this case the fabric falls in front of the tube of the roller blind, leaving it hidden. The direction of winding It will always be taken facing the blind, both for indoor and outdoor installation. It is ideal to save the handles of the windows.
REAR WINDING/ CRIMPED GLASS
In this case the fabric falls behind the tube of the roller blind, leaving it in view. In this case the fabric stays stuck to the glass of our window. The direction of winding It will always be taken facing the blind, both for indoor and outdoor installation.
If you want to guide your roller blind, the direction of the roll must be this.

This manual operation allows us to raise and lower our blind manually. You can select three types of chain material:
- High resistance PVC chain in various colors to match the color of the supports.
- Stainless steel metal chain

- Silent operation. Move your curtains effortlessly. Maximum Comfort with Minimum Electrical Consumption
- Long-lasting rechargeable battery (6 months using it twice a day)
- Installation without cables, like a conventional blind
- Charger required (one unit for one or more rechargeable battery powered blinds)
HOW TO MEASURE THE WIDTH OF THE BLIND
As a general rule, we should add between 7 and 10 cm to the width of the window on each side of the outer frame of the window.
If the window or door is next to a wall, we will measure from the wall to the end of the outer frame of the window and add between 7 and 10 cm only on one side
If the window or door is between walls, we will measure the gap we have and subtract 0.5 cm.
It should be noted that the total width of the blind is the brackets + the fabric. The measurement that we must put when placing the order is the total measurement of the blind. This means that the fabric will be between 4 and 5.3 cm less than the total width of the blind depending on the type of operation chosen.
HOW TO MEASURE THE HEIGHT OF THE BLIND
CEILING INSTALLATION:
Measure from the ceiling to where you want the bottom of the roller blind to reach (H). Remember to take into account any obstacles in the path of your blind, such as window handles or radiators. We recommend adding 5/10 cm from the end of the window frame at the bottom.
WALL INSTALLATION:
As a general rule, we should add between 15/20 cm to the height of the window frame at the top; and add between 5/10 cm to the height of the window frame at the bottom or the measurement where you want the bottom of the blind to reach.
H = WINDOW HEIGHT + 15/20 CMS + 5/10 CMS
Remember to take into account any obstacles in the path of your blind, such as window handles or radiators. To know which bracket to choose to overcome these obstacles, consider the following:
- ✔ With the standard premium plus 1 bracket available for chain or motor operation, you can save 6.5 cm from the wall.
- ✔ With the long premium plus 1 bracket available for chain or motor operation, you can save 9.0 cm from the wall.
- ✔ With the premium plus 2 bracket available for chain, motor and crank operation, you can save 8.0 cm from the wall.
When it comes to separating our blind from the window, everything will depend on the type of support, the type of terminal and its attachment to the ceiling or wall.
With a 20mm hidden terminal, which is what we recommend, the distances would be as follows. For more information see technical sheet.
(A). If we choose the premium plus I short wall support and fall behind, it will separate about 1mm.
(B). If we choose support premium plus I short wall and drop in front, it will separate about 62mm
(C). If we choose the premium plus I long wall support and fall behind, it will separate about 25mm.
(D). If we choose support premium plus I long wall and drop in front, it will separate about 90mm
(E). If we choose the premium plus II wall support and drop from behind, it will separate about 2mm.
(F). If we choose premium plus II wall support and drop from the front, it will separate about 77mm
If the installation is on the ceiling, we can separate it as much as necessary so that the blind does not collide with any obstacle when lowered.
WITHOUT CONTROL
You can select the option without control, if you have a compatible control for that blind, or if, for example, you buy 4 blinds that you want to operate with a single control, in this case in one of the blinds you would select a multichannel control (it allows to operate several blinds ) and in the other three blinds I would choose the option "without control"
CONVENTIONAL REMOTE CONTROLS:
Available with several channels, each channel is valid to operate a blind. Depending on the manufacturer's brand, they have different functionalities:
SOMFY CONTROLS: Allows the centralization option: operate all the curtains from a single control and add more functions such as wind or sun sensors (available to purchase in the "additional options" section). You can program the preferred position of the blind thanks to the "my" function

- ELEGANCE 4: Multichannel radio control transmitter (4 + 1 channels) with individual and / or group functions. Compatible with receivers and
Bandalux engines.
WIRELESS WALL REMOTE CONTROLS:
It is the closest thing to a push button, but it does not need to have a wiring. It is fixed to the wall by means of adhesive or with a couple of screws, it has an autonomy of more than 5 years. Available with several channels, each channel is valid to operate a blind. Includes frame and push button. Depending on the manufacturer's brand, they have different functionalities:

- SMOOVE 1: a channel for 1 blind or a grouping of channels
- SMOOVE 2: 2 channels for two independent blinds or two channel groupings
- SMOOVE 4: 4 channels for four independent blinds or four channel groupings
BANDALUX CONTROLS: Allows the centralization option: operate all the curtains from a single control and add more functions such as wind or sun sensors (available to purchase in the "additional options" section)
- ELEGANCE SMOOVE 1: one channel for 1 blind
HOW TO CHOOSE THE TYPE OF BOTTON RAIL
The type of Terminal has two functions, the first is aesthetic, to suit the client, and the second and most important, is to give the blind enough weight, so that the fabric is taut and prevents wrinkles. There are two types of terminals, the seen ones, and the hidden ones. In some fabrics it is not possible to put hidden terminals, take that into account. Depending on the measurements of your blind and in order of recommendation from us, we indicate below which ones we recommend.
- Blinds width less than 200 cm and height less than 200 cm: Hidden of 20mm and Seen of 25mm
- Blinds width less than 250 cm and height less than 300 cm: Hidden of 20mm and Seen of 35 mm
- Blinds width greater than 400 cm and height greater than 400 cm: Hidden of 20 / 30mm
